Alexa Calling And Messaging Now Available For Your iPad, Android Tablets, And Of Course Amazon’s Own Fire Tablet
Alexa calling is a feature which lets the customers make or receive voice and video calls from Alexa supported devices is now available in tablets. There will be additional support for making calls along with messaging options on tabs. This will include Android, iPads, and Fire tablets. This will be hands-free. On certain older devices, like Fire 7 and Fire HD 8, a message or a call can be placed by pressing the home button.
The devices will also support Drop In — the feature that lets you use Alexa devices as an intercom system of sorts, where you can instantly connect with other devices around the home, or in friends’ and families’ homes, if you choose to enable it.
With the updated version of the Alexa app, you can use the new call and message features. Initially, you will have to import your list of contacts and verify your number. This is a sign of how Alexa is becoming more capable for smart home integrations.
Amazon is also planning to let users interact with Alexa through an app instead of only via Alexa devices. The latest call support can be found on both Android and iOS applications.
