Amazon Alexa Brings Smart Home For Renters And Property Managers
With Amazon Alexa being everywhere from homes and college dorms to hotel rooms, the time has come to enter the apartment rental space. The company has revealed a residential program which specifically targets landlords and property managers to enable Amazon Alexa at their place. Amazon’s smart speakers will be usable without any set up for new renters once they move in and these devices can be configured to give out specific information about the property. Once a renter moves out, the property managers will be able to reset these speakers while keeping the connections to smart-home features in place.
This way, the resident does not have to worry about setting up the smart home devices and carrying them from place to place. This also gives the apartment owners an additional feature to boast about.
Tenants will be able to link their Amazon accounts so they can use all of Alexa’s features, such as calling friends or playing your Spotify.
Though these devices are popular, they have been known to create problems, such as when tenants don’t want to use smart home technology. Amazon has mentioned privacy as being a topmost priority in this case. They have partnered up with IOTAS, Sentient Property Services, and Stratis IoT for future plans.
