Amazon Alexa Is Getting Smarter Making Hands-Free Control Of Your Smart Devices Easier Than Ever
With smart home devices growing at a rapid pace, it is predicted that nearly 833 million devices would be shipped this year. According to a survey, 75% of the participants said that they use Alexa or other voice assistants at least one day and 63% said that they use home automation via assistant multiple times a day. With time, Alexa is becoming more capable and skilled at handling requests.
Amazon demonstrated Alexa Conversations for seamless multi-turn interactions, bringing easy-to-remember commands, like “Alexa, start cleaning” to appliances like Roomba robots.
Nathan Smith, head of customer experience team, deals with developing new features for Alexa. The latest features include machine learning and AI to help Alexa understand not only what you say, but also what you mean by that. Alexa has also grown smarter, trying to help you, if you forget the names set for certain devices or rooms, lettings users use natural language.
Alexa Hunches use machine learning strategies leveraged by Amazon Web Services, enabling the assistant to remind you when you have forgotten something, or as part of your routine. To make onboarding easier, Amazon is now working on developing a zero-touch setup. Their Wi-Fi Simple Setup takes care of everything and users hardly have to do any configurations. With a more diverse customer base, Amazon is working to cater to everyone.
