Amazon’s Alexa Is Removing The Hard Part Of Setting Up Your Smart Home.
Smart gadgets definitely do make home and work life better and easier. That is when they are all set up and ready to roll. Setting them up, however, is a challenge most of the time.
It’s easy to say “turn on the kitchen lights,” but more complicated to get everything on the right Wi-Fi connection and grouped for that convenience.
With Alexa, one can add multiple devices to a group with just voice commands and no manual setting! The FAQs or the support page do not mention this great functionality. It was mentioned in the Echo newsletter but the company has not announced this feature with a pomp and show.
Users will now be able to group the smart devices with just command and control them. There is no indication of when this feature went live and since when it has been available. No matter how it came about to be, this should make thing quite easier now. So go ahead and say, “Alexa, add the lamp to the living room group.” Or whatever you fancy 🙂
