Apple May Use HomePod Mini In Its Ventures To Expand HomeKit
Apple has been trying to capture more of the market and their latest, the HomePod mini, might be the breakthrough that they have been waiting for. Though it was initially designed to serve just as a speaker, it now plugs into the HomeKit ecosystem. It is one of the cheapest devices that Apple will be releasing in the smart home space. With the HomePod mini, users will be able to link all their devices to the device that will serve as the “home hub”. This device is essential as it will allow users to control their linked smart home devices from a single system.
This is a boon for the Apple users as they will be able to link all their services from the Home app on their phone.
There’s also the security aspect: Apple is extremely rigorous when it comes to giving its HomeKit seal of approval, even after it removed the requirement for a physical hardware authenticator.
With the introduction of HomePod mini, we are sure to see an increase in the user base of Apple’s smart home systems, even though the speakers on them might not be that useful!
