Are Smart Video Displays The Solution For Controlling Your Smart Home?
Since there is no single smart home protocol in the smart device industry, voice assistants and smart video displays are the solutions. Lenovo Smart Display and Google Home Hub are both reasonably priced and support Google Assistant. Alexa-powered Echo Show is another great option.
While Apple’s HomePod boasts of similar capabilities, the ecosystem is severely limited and Siri is just not as good as the others yet. Regarding device control, Google Home Hub emerged the winner thanks to smooth setup, intuitive voice assistant, and a great experience. Alexa gave a lot of trouble with Echo Show 2 during setup.
Amazon Echo Show 2 turned out to be the winner for the communication part. Google Assistant cannot send text messages but with Lenovo Smart Display, video and audio quality of the video call made was quite clear. With Echo Show 2 though, it was extremely easy to call and the quality was excellent.
With Display, Google Home Hub is the clear winner thanks to its speed, ease of use, and better formatting. The Echo Show, despite its great display, didn’t perform the task up to the mark. With regards to these three factors, Google Home Hub emerged as the overall winner.
Not only did it deliver the speediest performance, Google Assistant was just a more pleasant experience overall.
