As Awesome As Alexa Is She Still Has Problems. Here’s Some Of The Everyday Issues You May Encounter.
While smart speakers do a great job with task management, they also have trouble at times including the Amazon Echo. One common issue is that Alexa activates without any warning and is always listening. While it’s more of an intended feature rather than a bug, it can be annoying at times. If you are watching something that has a character called Alexa, you can pretty much take it for granted that your Echo is going to go crazy.
Alexa has over 50,000 skills which is a great thing. But it also raises doubts on how many it can actually perform properly. Another common problem with Alexa is the fact that it has trouble staying connected to the Wi-Fi. Switching it off and turning it on again can solve the problem.
This isn’t a problem limited to Alexa devices, it seems every smart speaker sporadically disconnects on occasion.
Did you know that when you give Echo the ability to make calls via Alexa, you are also allowing it to route the incoming calls via Alexa? This could pose some issues. It can be solved by activating DND or disabling the feature. Alexa sometimes also has trouble hearing you, especially if the microphone is far away. There have been complaints about the Echo notifications being too loud as well.
