BrainChip And Magik Eye Partner Up To Work On Object, Gesture Recognition For Smart Devices And Cars
BrainChip Holdings and Magik Eye are teaming up to bring object detection and gesture recognition to connected devices.
The tech giants think that by combining the energy-efficient Invertible Light 3D depth sensing technology owned by Magik Eye and the Akida neuromorphic processor owned by BrainChip can give outstanding results. The Akida, on the one hand, is an ultra low-power processor that can analyze data quickly and efficiently and on the other hand, the Invertible Light uses a CMOS image sensor and a dot projector to produce 3D point cloud data. The result of the merger will help the automobile industry in developing autonomous vehicles as the vehicles need to interpret things in a fraction of a second.
This technology can be integrated with smart home devices as well. If everything is successful, this technology could possibly disrupt the gaming industry as well. With the implementation of the driver monitoring systems, it will be capable of keeping a watch over the signs of drowsiness and distracted driving. Many speculate that this technology can be used in security systems which will help in monitoring becoming much more fluidic.
