Crowdfunded Camect Is Uniting Smart Security Cameras Using A Single Flexible Hub
Fragmentation seems to be the biggest issue faced by the smart home market today. Every device comes with its own app and almost every brand has its smart home platform. Two ex-employees of Google are looking to work on the problem. Their startup, Camect,
…wants to unite nearly all of the smart home security cameras available on the market by connecting them to a single flexible hub that allows for complete control by homeowners.
They want to make sure that this works without any security issues that are usually encountered when uploading footage to the cloud. While the tech behind this gadget is not clear, it is remarkable that it comes with no proprietary camera brand requirements.
Camect provides plug-and-play control with cameras by Arlo, Wyze, Nest, and nearly 50 others. Its subscription fees are also way cheaper than the others. It is designed to work with any up-and-coming cameras that feature high-resolution, night-vision, and more.
The best part about this is its privacy. Not only will the hub not upload videos to the cloud, but their own servers also don’t have access to the footage. Working on a successful crowdfunding campaign and leaning on its subscription fee, the startup is working efficiently.
