The world’s first live surgery was showcased at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Dr. Antonio de Lacy, head of the gastrointestinal surgery at the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, guides a team conducting real surgery from MWC 2019.
The yellow line was created by Lacy, who is not present in the room. The yellow line tells the doctors where to cut and a voice on the loudspeakers instructs the surgeons. All this is possible that’s to the live 5G network from Vodafone. This is an example of just how much 5G can have an impact on our lives, not only in technology but across all areas.
With 5G, there is no need to wait. One can download a complete TV series in mere seconds. This tech was initially designed for factory robots, cars, smart home devices, and so on. However, the use of 5G in personal smartphones is yet to be seen.
Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, Sony, OnePlus, and many other companies are already working on their 5G phones and devices. Virtual reality gaming is also a concept with 5G gaming. One example of this is HTC's new Vive Focus Plus cordless VR headset. 5G boasts of hardly any lag time, making it ideal for a lot of new applications.
