Even Better Than An In-Home PA System, Google Home Speakers Will Soon Be Supporting Two-Way Audio Calling
Google Home smart speakers are getting ready to support two-way audio conversations with Google Duo. Google Duo was launched as a rival to FaceTime. Initially, the two-way video was available only for smartphones. Later, it was released for tablets and web. Now, camera-less Google Home Hub permits incoming video. Google added the two-way audio feature to the Google Home smart speakers using Google Duo.
That means you can ask your Google Home to: “Duo audio call Speaker X” once you’ve got the feature enabled on your Google Home device.
If you want to answer, a short tap will do. A long tap will help you decline or hang up the call. In order to use the feature, you will require a Google Duo account. It is easy enough to register and you can do so on your phone or tab. Once done, you will see your Google Home or Home Mini listed in the “Availability” section. If you don’t see your devices, check back as the company is rolling out support in steps.
