Forget A Smart Home! Are Smart Neighborhoods The Way Of The Future?
Smart neighborhoods are the latest trend. The PulteGroup and Georgia Power recently launched their first Smart Neighborhood where the devices take care of lighting, heating, security, and other main factors. The users would be able to control them by using their smartphones.
Pulte says on its website, “In developing Atlanta’s first Smart Neighborhood, we are further demonstrating our commitment to product innovation and sustainable building practices.”
The houses range from 2,092 square feet to over 2,700 square feet, having two or three bedrooms, three full baths and two half baths, and a garage large enough to accommodate two cars.
The neighborhood will have access to a fancy resort-style pool with cabanas to relax in. There will also be a separate space for pets and a large central park. The Briarcliff and Hayward designs are not very different from this either, except that the former has a deck off the kitchen. Hutton offers a rooftop terrace.
Pulte says that each home comes with a control to lock your front door, garage door, and manage the thermostat. Besides this, you can add the smart devices that you want. The homes will feature Amazon Alexa, but the systems are designed to work with Samsung SmartThings and Google Home.
