GM Finally Releases Alexa Auto – Test Drive Reveals Some Pretty Awesome Features
GM recently announced that Alexa Auto was now officially available in Canadian markets on most 2018 and newer GM vehicles. Users can, among other things, lock and unlock their vehicles via the phone app, making keys a thing of the past. If you would rather use the voice feature, all you need to say is, “Alexa, unlock my car.” When you get started, GM vehicles will allow you to make a choice between Alexa Auto and the native voice recognition system. You can switch back and forth between the two if you want. You can ask Alexa to do the usual things, such as make a phone call, weather updates, traffic updates, and enter the destination on the map. You could also ask Alexa to turn on the lights and the air conditioning as you are on your way home.
GM has started adding apps straight into its vehicles to offer seamless experience to its users. This software currently exists in many 2018 to 2020 with the higher-end Info 3 connected infotainment system along with most 2021 Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles. The company is working on introducing other features, such as interacting with your Alexa device at home, mark next vehicle servicing date, and more. While it is not up to the mark yet,
