Google Invests $1M In Kraftful To Help Smart Home Companies Develop Better Apps
Kraftful is a company that manufactures the different components that a connected home requires. They redesign the process of putting together the components every time to create a smart light bulb because no company is looking for an app that is a replica of another company’s product. In this case, while the fonts, colors, and backgrounds are customizable, the main process is reusable. More smart devices are coming up where most of them are from legacy appliance companies that don’t have much experience in designed apps. With poor apps getting poor reviews, sales go down.
Kraftful runs analytics to understand how the users are using the app and tweak it accordingly. The company works with both iOS and Android and customizes it to the company’s needs.
It offers cloud functionality like push notifications and activity history, provides analytics for insights on how users are actually using an app and keeps everything working as OS updates roll out and as device display sizes grow ever larger.
The reason behind the company’s venture is that most buyers expect a dedicated app from the device manufacturer, even if it would work with other standardized solutions. Google Assistant Investments Program has invested $1 million in the company along with plenty of other investors.
