Google Removes YouTube Availability On Amazon’s Echo Show
The prices of the most expensive Amazon’s Alexa-enabled speaker – Echo Show, with built-in screen, has been slashed from $230 to $200 due to retreat from Google’s YouTube.
Disagreement over how YouTube would be used on the Echo Show led Google's video streaming site to remove support from the smart speaker entirely. The Echo Show's sales have suffered ever since, according to a report in Variety.
According to Amazon, YouTube has withdrawn streaming of its content on Echo Show without any explanation and advance notification to its customers which is disappointing. Google cited violation of terms of service by Echo Show which caused a broken user experience. However, Google is hopeful to reach an agreement and resolve the issue soon.
