Google’s Assistant Enters The Indian Market To Compete With The Already Established Amazon Alexa
The smart-voice controlled speakers from Amazon and Google can perform a whole range of tasks like playing music, looking up the weather, getting information and taking control of the smart home. Last year in October, Amazon announced the launch of Alexa assistant, along with the Echo, Echo Plus, and Echo Dot devices in India on an invite-only basis. After few months, Google is all set to enter the Indian market with its smart speakers.
The speakers let the users interact with them with voice commands via Google Assistant. Many services are integrated with it – both in-house and third-party. It lets the users control playback of videos or photos, listen to music or receive news updates just by voice. A maximum of 6 people can link their accounts to Google Home for personalization. Google will recognize you by your voice.
Before its launch, a bug was found on Google Home Mini devices which activated the Assistant on its own and resulted in unnecessary voice recording. Later Google removed the feature of activating Assistant by touch stating privacy issues. Amazon also has had problems, with many users complaining about Alexa’s un-triggered laugh. The entry of Google Home in India can give Amazon and others a tough competition.
