Guest Mode On Google’s Smart Home Devices To Work Like Incognito Mode
Google, the tech giant, recently announced the addition of the Guest Mode on its speakers and display systems. This feature immediately caught the attention of the public. The addition of this feature means that users will be able to control their privacy. The idea is to launch this feature in English first and then slowly add it to other languages and devices in the future.
In guest mode, users will still be able to ask questions, control smart home devices, set timers, play music, etc. But they will not be able to access personal results, for example, calendar entries or contacts.
Enabling the Guest Mode feature is simple as all one needs to do is to ask the Google Assistant to turn it on for you. This is more or less similar to the incognito mode that is present in Google Chrome. Google said once Guest Mode is enabled, the device will automatically delete audio recordings and the Google Assistant activities from the device’s owner’s account. Another useful feature is that you will be able to ask the Google Assistant if the Guest Mode has actually been turned on in case you want to know the status of the smart device. No interactions will be saved on Guest mode.
