HGTV’s 2021 Smart Home Showcases Designer Tiffany Brooks’ Smart Space
Homes have been transforming over the years but in the last decade, they have a different flavor – the smart home flavor. HGTV has been conducting smart home sweepstakes, a giveaway that surprises winning participants with luxury homes across the U.S. For the seventh year in a row, Tiffany Brooks, the Chicago-based designer is at the helm of HGTV’s Smart Home sweepstakes. She often surveys people before she starts her designs to get a better feel for what a winner might like. The survey revealed that people wanted a space that can be used for multiple purposes.
With the increasing prevalence of online shopping, for example, she wanted to create a designated space for mail carriers to leave packages, dubbed the package drop room.
Another room is purely dedicated to meditation, journaling, or to relax. Due to these learnings from the pandemic, multiple smart home tweaks were needed such as touch-free doors, faucets, sanitation devices, and so on. With the uncertainty of how the pandemic would progress, the current demands need to be reflected to ensure that all needs are satisfied.
