How Does Apple Convince Consumers To Choose HomeKit Over Google Or Amazon For Building A Smarter Home?
Since HomeKit is an important part of Apple’s ecosystem, the company has been showcasing it in stores with a demo station. This was a necessary move in order to convince customers that HomeKit experience is better than Google Home or Amazon Alexa.
There are two kinds of HomeKit display – the classic one with a simple panel featuring the HomeKit along with a small range of trial products and a modern one with that features a much more comprehensive demo area with either 2 or 4 portrait-mounted TVs displaying scenes from a virtual home environment.
These TVs are connected to Apple products like a HomePod, an Apple Watch, iPads, an iPhone, and an Apple TV. While the classic stores provide a direct hands-on experience, others do not. There are also no connected devices on display that are used outside the living room or bedroom.
Unless you know an enthusiast who has already made the investment in a full smart home, the best way to learn about HomeKit today is at Apple retail stores.
The best place to start showcasing the updated HomeKit Avenue would be to bring the classic store’s hands-on area to all locations. Offering a wider range of HomeKit-compatible products is an excellent way to attract the interest of the users. Apple can also demonstrate device continuity to the visitors, but in stores lacking wall space, this could be an issue. Since HomeKit cannot be illustrated via an Apple session or simple advertising, Apple needs to do everything in its power to attract users.
