How Will Facebook’s Version Of The Google Home Or Amazon Echo Change The Voice Control Eco-System?
Facebook is one of the most popular platforms for chatbots with millions of them on Messenger. They offer the users information, customer support, and advice on brands and businesses. With Facebook all ready to come up with their own version of Google Home or Amazon Echo, what will this mean for the voice command environment?
“M” is Facebook’s artificial intelligence service. M was also the one running Facebook’s chatbot until sometime back. It was revamped with now being able to use new voice service, translate voice messages into text and bring you a Messenger’s version of a talkative home bot. It looks like soon Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri will also be seen as a part of the Messenger’s service.
Other bot vendors are working on introducing voice options to their products as well. SnatchBot launched a voice version for the user’s convenience. Chatbots can be installed in booths without the need for a keyboard in places like transit points, airports, and tourist areas.
Businesses can also add a virtual assistant to their front desks, helping visitors check in and workers book meeting rooms and other tasks. Anything that saves a little time and shows the company off as smart and progressive will be warmly received.
