How Will The Embracement Of Smart Voice Assistants Drive The IoT Market?
Perficient Digital have been taking feedback and surveys from people to understand how they use voice commands in their everyday life. Stone Temple, a subsidiary of Perficient Digital, surveyed 1,700 consumers on how they learnt voice commands, how they use it, why and when do they use it. The company says their interest behind doing this survey is the fact that in just a few years, we will spend a lot of time interacting verbally with devices having no screens.
”This has the potential to drive huge changes in the market, including new winners and losers — and you want to be one of the winners.”
The research tells us that more than 60% of the respondents mentioned they are comfortable using voice commands within their house. However, outside the house, only 30% are comfortable using voice commands, such as in a theater or a restaurant.
The survey by Stone Temple found that men are 1.59 times more likely to use voice compared to women, as are the consumers in the age group 25 to 34. Surprisingly, married users are more likely to use voice than their single counterparts.
One major interaction element that is making users more comfortable with voice assistants is the integration of responses like, “Well” and “Not Bad”. Some features we might see in the future is improved sequencing, support for other languages, and customized voice option.
