Increased Attacks On Smart Devices Creates Smarter Home Security Solutions From AKITA
The AKITA Smart Home Station is basically a network monitoring product which protects smart devices from malware and hackers. HighIoT, the manufacturer, said in a statement that the attacks on smart devices have increased in the last few months. This product was developed to protect devices like smart cameras, smoke detectors, smart TVs, and other IoT devices. The product is on sale for $99 per unit. The subscription plan can cost anywhere between $15 and $29.
The AKITA Smart Home Station uses Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) method for maintaining security which examines the network traffic to make sure that the devices only connect to trustworthy servers or IP addresses. This method does not scan data on the network, unlike Deep Packet Inspection method, ensuring the homeowner’s privacy.
In order to better protect the homeowner, the device developers also noted that the smart home station takes advantage of custom machine learning algorithms that learn the habits and security needs of the homeowner. The tech firm also noted that users can track network activity, check data speeds, and identify devices on the network through the AKITA app, which could be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
