Insurers And The IoT Might Just Save Us All A Lot Of Time, Money, And Effort
A pilot program relating Notion smart home sensors and Travelers insurance has come up. According to a post,
“Travelers has tapped Notion, the home awareness solution and smart home sensor, to offer smart home monitoring systems to Travelers customers in California.”
Travelers and Notion are working together where the former is supplying the latter with data-driven insights to customers via Notion’s home monitoring system in a bid to mitigate threats like fire damage, water leaks, and thefts.
Selected Travelers’ customers across California will be given Notion sensors for them to be better protected with Notion’s technology. This looks out for changes in temperature, water leaks, sounds smoke alarms, monitors the opening/closing of doors, and garages. Though insurance companies can gather data, they usually don’t do it. Or do it well.
Using such sensors or IoT technology could be a great way to avert disasters and save everybody involved a lot of money, effort, and time.
