IoT Wouldn’t Be What It Is Today Without This ’90s Tech Invention
Without a fast and reliable Wi-Fi, our smart home dreams may be shattered. This is why the first thing you need to do is to get a wireless setup when you create your smart home. A smart home refers to a series of connected devices that can be automated and remotely accessed to make your life easier. From 2010, we have had a variety of forecasts for the future where we dreamt of autonomous robots and so on that would work to make life simpler for us. The World Wide Web was established in 1991 and from then on, the internet gained traction. Wi-Fi entered the picture in 1997.
Wi-Fi is cheap, powerful, and, most important, it works. A box the size of a paperback, and costing no more than dinner for two, magically distributes broadband Internet to an area the size of a football field. A card no larger than a matchbook receives it.
This invention makes a lot of difference since we just cannot imagine a smart device to work without Wi-Fi. By connecting these devices to the internet and the cloud, we are able to utilize all that it offers. While the reality of smart homes today might not have been thought of by the developers of yesteryears, we are doing great. Other techs like Zigbee and Z-Wave allow better connection between devices as well.
