Have a great philanthropy idea? Pitch Jeff Bezos.
The Amazon CEO posted on Thursday a request for pitches for a new philanthropic effort.

If anybody has the money and vision to start a game-changing non-profit, it’s Bezos. As Bezos notes, he has made himself into one of the world’s richest people by banking on the idea that planning for the long-term is better than trying to go for a short-term boost.
That, however, is not necessarily what he’s looking for.
“I like long-term—it’s a huge lever: Blue Origin, Amazon, Washington Post—all of these are contributing to society and civilization in their own ways,” Bezos wrote. “But I’m thinking I want much of my philanthropic activity to be helping in the here and now—short term—at the intersection of urgent need and lasting impact.” Read more…
