Level Home’s Smart Lock Receives Huge Funding From Lennar And Walmart
Level Home, a smart home startup, has launched its first product – The Level Lock.
The Level Lock, its first patented product, is a system — tested for durability, powered by a basic CR2 battery (average life: one year), equipped with ANSI GRADE 1/A security and encryption — that is fitted into the existing dead bolt on your door to make it “smart”.
The company says it can be installed by the homeowners themselves. You can either use HomeKit via your Apple iPhone or Watch to unlock the door or use the manual keys. With the app, you can grant people one-time access as well.
Although it is priced high right now, chances are that it would become more affordable in the future due to the funding the product and the company have received. Investors include Hut 8 Ventures, Walmart, and Lennar Homes. It could also be possibly seen in other uses, such as where Walmart offers smart locks to its customers for its delivery business.
Although Level Home is not the first one to come up with this concept, it is a good start towards an invisible locking system. It looks like the company could be involved in creating more smart products that don’t require the users to purchase new platforms or systems but instead work with the existing ones.
