Pharrell Williams got serious with the One Love Manchester crowd after a rousing, Daft Punk-free rendition of 2013’s song of the summer, “Get Lucky.”
“You know, I’m bowing…” he said after bending low in front of the cheering crowd, “…I’m bowing because despite all the things that have been going on in this place, I don’t feel or smell or hear or see any fear in this building.
“All we feel here tonight is love, resilience, positivity. And you know what? I hate to be corny, but it actually makes me….”
He let the statement hang for a moment before shouting out “Miley Cyrus!” As the band kicked into Williams’ award-winning Despicable Me 2 tune, “Happy,” Cyrus sauntered out onto the stage and joined in for a duet to kick off her own set. Read more…
