Nationwide’s Smart Home Program Set To Protect Connected Homes
One of the biggest insurance players, Nationwide, has now come up with a plan that offers their customers smart home technology monitoring service that will help the property owners to detect the leakages – be it water or smoke. They have partnered with Notion, who offer security systems for smart homes using smart devices. The customers of Nationwide can choose to use the service and purchase Notion’s Wi-Fi enabled smart home monitoring system at a reduced price.
The system can be used by homeowners to track real time instances of water pipe bursts or CO2 alarms through their mobile device.
From the user’s perspective, this is also going to help them in saving money as their insurance policy would change. With smart home becoming popular, insurance companies will have to at some point adapt to the change and should be able to offer better incentives based on the smart home connectivity of the user.
