Netflix Stops Streaming On Older Samsung, Vizio, And Roku Devices
It’s an increasingly common problem: You own a device that has no apparent problem, but it suddenly stops working with an app or service because its software can no longer be updated.
Netflix users will be facing the same issue soon when the service stops streaming on older Samsung or Vizio smart TVs and Roku streaming players. The company says that this is due to technical limitations. Users using the impacted devices will receive alerts regarding the same.
Samsung devices produced before 2011 and Vizio smart TVs manufactured between 2012 to 2014 will be affected. The impacted Roku devices include the Roku SD (N1050), Roku HD-XR (N1101), Roku HD (N1100, 2000C), and Roku XD (2050X, 2050N, 2100X, 2100N). These devices will not support Netflix post December 1, 2019.
The one bit of good news is that if you do need to replace an older Roku, or add a newer streaming player to an older smart TV, holiday sales make this is a great time to upgrade.
