No More, “Hey Google”. The Virtual Assistant Now Has A More Natural Back-And-Forth Conversation
Google recently released its latest feature where you can continue your conversation with the device without repeating the trigger phrase. This lets the users have a natural conversation with the device.
The “Continued Conversation” function is first rolling out today for Google Home, Google Home Mini, and Google Home Max. To activate it, go to your Google Assistant app, and enter Settings → Preferences → Continued Conversation and toggle it on.
The feature does not let you eliminate the need of saying the wake-up words altogether. You need to say the phrase followed by the command. However, you can give additional follow-up commands without saying “OK Google”. To end the conversation, just stop talking!
Google’s blog post talks about how one can use this setting with examples. This makes it easier to learn about it and implement it as well! The company is yet to tell us when this feature will be available on the other devices.
