Revoking Access To Google Assistant Shows New Issues With Nest Devices
If you have been using Google Assistant devices, then revoking access to your Google account can now have complications. This includes the range of Nest devices that closely works with Google Assistant. This issue was a result of fixing another problem. Users who had an improper Google account and those who listened to the security warning, resulted in having their access revoked and their smart home setup messed up.
Essentially, revoking access to an affected device will delete your “home” within the Google Home app.
Though a simple reset was able to fix all the errors, the setup process will have to re-run from the start which is frustrating for users. Google has acknowledged this bug and are working on fixing this issue once and for all. They have also mentioned that users affected with this issue will have to relink all devices from scratch! The erroneous security notifications have been fixed but the de-linking of devices issue is being worked upon.
