Roomba Becomes Even Smarter Than Ever With Software Upgrades
iRobot, Roomba’s parent company, recently revealed that a “smart” software upgrade is on its way to all their robot vacuums. Once the software has been updated, the users will be able to set areas in the house where the vacuum should not go and the areas that need deep and frequent cleaning. This upgrade is aimed at making things more customizable and the device smarter.
The iRobot Home app has been redesigned with more features for customizing a robot’s cleaning routines and it works with all Wi-Fi connected iRobot products.
During the pandemic, users are more focused on having the house cleaned frequently compared to the pre-pandemic times where weekly cleanups were the norm. With this update, users will be able to set areas in their homes as clean zones and keep out zones which will reduce manual intervention. Taking it one step further, the robot vacuum can start cleaning when you are not at home. The app uses your location to trigger the Roomba device to start cleaning.
