Seniors Taught To Operate Smart Devices To Stay Connected As The Pandemic Rages On
If you are a senior citizen and live in the city of Saco, you can now learn the digital side of the things. With the pandemic, many senior citizens are not able to stay connected with their loved ones as they are not aware of how they can use these devices and they are not tech-savvy.
Age Friendly Saco is connecting 25 older people with tablets and providing training on how to use them.
Some volunteers help them out by getting them used to the digital world and helping them stay connected.
The program was initiated in order to help the senior community learn new technology and make use of it at the fullest. The trained volunteers have also installed Amazon Echo Dot devices, in some of Saco’s older residents’ households, which help them in navigating their devices. They were also taught how they could operate smart home devices and ensure that all appliances are turned off before leaving their house.
