To Move, Or Not To Move Your Smart Home! Is That The Question?
Moving a home is highly stressful. More so if you have to decide which smart home devices to take along and which not.
Obviously, devices like your Amazon Echo and smart plugs can come along, but what about your motorized window blinds, irrigation system and the dozens of smart bulbs you have installed over the years?
The first option is to be ruthless and leave everything behind. If you find a buyer who wants a smart house, may be the best option would be to increase the price and sell it the way it is. Since smart devices like motorized window blinds and automated garden irrigation systems will most likely have been customized, it might be difficult to fit them in your new house.
The second option is to take it all with you. Your buyer might not like the idea of a smart home, have their own devices, or be concerned with privacy issues. If that’s the case, you should take all the devices with you and install what you can.
The last option is to take what will be compatible in your new house and leave the rest. Semi-permanent devices need some consideration but with devices like lights and smart speakers, you can definitely take them along.
