Using Smart Lights To Improve Sleep Habits
Alarm clocks and their snooze buttons are a boon and a bane for us all. In an attempt to mimic sunlight, the Philips Hue system was chosen. This needs not only smart bulbs but also a bridge.
The lights can be used together to create a scene, like the two in our master taking on sunset tones, or independently. But the real task was using them to improve our sleep. There were three ways we were able to do this.
The first way included using the “Wake Up” routine that was set to start the light on gradually before half an hour of the wake-up time.
It also is a great idea to use with your children. You can talk with your kids and determine a color of their preference which could mean something. For instance, a dim blue light could mean it is time to sleep while green could mean that it is time to wake up. This is a great way to train your child to sleep and wake up on time.
Hue has options that let us set scenes for even when we are not at home. This provides additional security to our house. The lights have positive effects on sleep habits as well as offering other benefits.
