What Do We Know About Samsung Neon So Far?
CES 2020 is finally happening. The eyes are all on Neon, a new venture funded by Samsung.
“Have you ever met an ‘Artificial’?” Neon tweeted several times since its Twitter account launched in December. Its LinkedIn page says it’s “bringing science fiction to reality” and has “the mission to imagine and create a better future for all.”
It is believed to be run by Pranav Mistry, Samsung research exec, who recently became the CEO of Samsung’s Bay Area-based Technology and Advanced Research Labs. He tweeted photos of an avatar he calls CORE R3. He mentions that it can autonomously create new expressions, new dialog, and even new movements.
The tweets have caused the netizens to speculate on what Neon could be. Some say it could be a replacement for Samsung’s Bixby while others say something else. The company is expected to reveal Neon at its 2020 CES keynote.
Samsung has finally come to the conclusion like the other companies that the way to make devices that are actually smart is to focus on artificial intelligence. The company has employed thousands of AI specialists and has opened AI centers around the world as well. It plans to create solutions to deal with mobility issues, health, and more.
While Bixby has constantly lagged behind Alexa and Google Assistant, this new invention is not related to Bixby at all, according to another tweet. However, it is certain that Neon is AI-related.
