Why Is Google Not Rolling Out A New Smart Speaker This Year?
Google has faced some criticisms regarding its relatively slower updates to Nest Hub Max. Come to think about it, they are not slowing down or losing the race, it is actually quite a smart move by Google. It is only natural that hardware launches and releases receive more attention than software updates. Instead of releasing a new smart speaker every year, Google has focused on software improvements.
What hardware releases have come along have been more impressive than just a design change (take the Echo, for example) or a few new color options.
Google has worked to increase the number of skills, increased the number of compatible devices, and solved customer issues.
Initially, the Google Assistant used to respond by starting off by repeating the command again followed by the answer. This did not make the customers happy. Now, the Assistant directly answers the question. By improving the software, the company is improving its product while keeping the customers happy. Alexa, although undergoes multiple updates, still lacks the number of voice options offered by Google, including non-American accents.
Users can also give three commands at one time. In addition to this, Google’s audio quality is greatly appreciated by the users. Alexa has always struggled with offering adequate audio quality. While it does not give fast updates, Google Home offers everything a smart speaker should.
