Work Continues On The Galaxy Home Smart Speaker With A Delay In Samsung’s Product Launch
Latest reports suggest that Samsung still has plans to release its smart speaker, the Galaxy Home, sometime in the near future. However, no other details have been shared. The company had said that the shipping of Galaxy Home would begin in April this year, but it didn’t happen.
It seems that the smart speaker is still in work and the company is working on improving the voice assistant Bixby, and as well as make the setup less complex. The app itself is in its last stages, which could signify that the launch date could be expected anytime now. Samsung plans to market this device as a way to control SmartThings-compatible smart home devices via voice along with offering an improved audio experience.
The device can also direct the sound to the location of the user, which should further improve one’s listening experience.
While the Galaxy Home is marketed as a premium model, the company is working on a more affordable model featuring Bixby. If Samsung wants to join in the market, the company needs to release its speaker soon since about 26% of the US consumers plan to buy smart speakers. Once the Galaxy Home is launched, Bixby will be a constant presence in smartphones as well, bridging any and all gaps between the devices.
