A Smarter, And More Colorful, Home Entertainment Experience With Philips Hue’s New Play And Signe Smart Lighting
Philips Hue recently announced its new outdoor fixtures and it looks like more features are on its way.
Philips Hue Play is a 9-inch bar of color-changing light that you can stick to the back of your TV, or underneath a cabinet. Philips also says you can lay it on the floor to “wash a wall up to the ceiling with light,” which sounds like a unique take on the geeky sort of smart home decor that products like these tend to represent.
The base kit contains two base stands, 2 Plays, and the power supply where each supply unit can support about 3 Plays. Philips Hue Signe is a vertical fixture which can throw colored light on the walls. Signe also has a table lamp version and a floor lamp version. Where the Play uses a separate power supply, Signe has a standard plug.
You can control both of them via the Google Assistant, Amazon’s Alexa, or via Apple HomeKit’s Siri. You can use either the Hue app or the voice commands. Hue Entertainment’s new software might be able to run directly on devices like smart TVs.
