Allegion Acquired Yonomi, Has Smart Plans For Future.
Yonomi, the startup behind the cloud-based hub, which uses a smartphone as a gateway to control a wide variety of smart home devices, was recently acquired by Allegion, which is also the parent company of Schlage, the smart home lock specialist. The Yonomi app, which works on iOS or Android, can control smart home devices from more than 20 brands in a single app.
The Yonomi Integrations platform is perhaps the thing that Allegion was most excited about with regards to getting the brand in-house.
Devices can easily be controlled via API services. The app has made life simpler for many users across the globe who have had multiple smart home devices installed at their place.
It has always been challenging to streamline and control all devices from one single app. Even if this had been achieved, another challenge was to maximize the utilization of the features that each smart home device offered. With the merge, it will be interesting to see what new improvements the app will be able to bring to the table for its consumers.
