Amazon’s New Alexa API Will Help Parents And Childcare Smart Home Devices
New parents get a lot of help from Amazon for childcare products like diapers and formula. Amazon has come up with a new application programming interface for babies. Developers will now be able to design custom skills for childcare-focused devices and smartphone applications using Alexa. With most new tech products featuring AI, this could be very useful for new parents.
Consider for a moment how hands-free voice control for childcare products and software could be a game-changing addition for parents trying to manage a newly born human being while juggling a half dozen other tasks.
With this, one would be able to ask Alexa to track when your child’s diaper was changed last or how much formula has your child consumed that day.
Hatch Baby develops smart night light and changing pads for kids. It has received investment from Amazon via the Alexa Fund and would be among the very first to design Alexa skills making use of this new API. Hatch Baby will be working alongside Baby Connect and Wildflower Health, other childcare companies.
