Apple’s New Shortcuts And Suggestions Feature Lets Siri Execute Multi-step Smart Routines And Send You Reminders
Siri is getting an update according to the announcement Apple made at its annual developer conference. Shortcuts is a new feature which lets Siri perform multistep routines.
For instance, you can record the phrase “I lost my keys,” and it can activate your own Tile to ring your keys so you can find them. Shortcuts could even help you do grocery shopping.
There are a few other updates as well. If you are late for a meeting, Siri will advise that you send a text. If you plan to watch a movie, Siri might advise that you put your phone on Do Not Disturb mode. Within Siri’s Shortcuts app, you will find a gallery having hundreds of shortcuts that can be downloaded, such as the one named Heading Home. It will set the thermostat, switch on the fan, send a message that you are on your way, and let you know how long it will take.
The biggest issue with Siri is that it does not recognize different voice like its competitors, Alexa and Assistant. The other speakers in the market are already capable of performing multistep routines.
