Apple’s Siri Shortcuts Make Controlling Your Philips Hue (Signify) Lights Easier Than Ever
Philips Hue lights are the most popular smart lights in the market and they have partnered with Apple again. Hue was among the first products to connect with HomeKit, Apple’s smart home platform. You can use Siri voice commands or use the Home app to control the Hue lights. With Siri Shortcuts, you can customize the voice commands and set a trigger for multiple tasks at one command.
For instance, saying, “Hey Siri, wake me up” after your alarm goes off in the morning could trigger your Hue lights to fade on while also triggering some music to play through your phone or through an AirPlay-compatible speaker like the Apple HomePod.
This option is, however, still in beta. This is a move forward in the HomeKit integration with Siri Shortcuts. Philips announced a number of new Hue lights were launched this summer. This includes the Hue Outdoor Lightstrip, the Hue Adore bathroom mirror, and the Hue Play.
