As Smart Technology Grows Faster And Faster, Will Human Intelligence Still Be A Useful Resource? With Proper Investment, And Foresight, India Thinks They Will Be.
An example of machine intelligence is how an artificial intelligence (AI) system that can diagnose pneumonia from chest X-rays better than expert radiologists.
Looking at tech advances, will humans have enough work to do in the future? Some predict that the results of such advances are going to be disastrous. First, it should be understood that not all human activities are easily automatable based on currently proven technologies. McKinsey Global Institute’s (MGI’s) analysis tell us that about 800 jobs out of 2,000 involve predictable, structured, and routine tasks, which makes automation possible.
While technology is replacing work, on one hand, new openings are getting created all the time. In India, the analysis predicts that the number of jobs lost is less compared to the number of new opportunities created. Over 100 million new jobs could be soon seen in India thanks to automation in a variety of industries and sectors. Sectors having the most growth are construction, care providers, customer support, education, and tech professionals.
The most important factor to consider if India’s workforce is equipped and capable enough to handle the jobs as they are likely to be more skill-based. It could be based on independent workers having full autonomy instead of full-time contracts. The benefit of this include increased gender diversity.
