When we set out to design a Wi-Fi solution, compatibility was our top priority. We think you’ll agree, a Wi-Fi thermostat that does not require a common wire and uses 2 standard AA batteries is a solution you can install with complete confidence. That’s why we designed the Sensi thermostat to work with the existing wiring on gas, oil, geothermal, heat pump and radiant heat systems – up to 4 stages of heating and 2 stages of cooling. A common wire is only required on 2-wire heat-only or AC-only systems.
The Sensi Wi-Fi thermostat works well with:
– Up to 4 stages of heating and 2 stages of cooling
– Electric heat and air conditioning
– Gas, radiant and heat pump
– Dual-fuel heat pump systems without requiring the installation of additional equipment
– Geothermal systems – but the Sensi thermostat does not have a built-in humidistat
– Cool-only or heat-only systems (like hot water systems), but these will require a ‘C-wire’ (common wire)
– Systems with remote sensors, although the Sensi thermostat does not utilize additional remote sensors
The Sensi app takes all of the frustration and guesswork out of thermostat installation. Just tell the app which wires are connected to your old thermostat, and it chooses from hundreds of possible configurations to select the one that matches your home exactly. Even if you’re installing a thermostat for the first time, we have you covered. Clearly illustrated, step-by-step instructions will confidently guide you through installation from start to finish. Should you need any help along the way, our highly trained technical support team is just a phone call away, seven days a week.
