Google And Amazon Currently Dominate The Smart Home Landscape. But Do You Have To Make A Choice Between The Two Giants?
Google and Amazon are dominating the inexpensive automated household devices. These devices can turn your lights on and off, lock the doors, and adjust the thermostats. They both are inexpensive and do a number of other activities as well. All the latest smart devices releases by Amazon, such as the subwoofers for the Echo, smart plugs, and a smart microwave are quite popular.
They’re also things that will never work well with Google Assistant, no matter how hard companies like IFTTT or SmartThings try. Too bad the Echo Show sucks and my Lenovo Smart Display does not suck and now is mostly there to keep me company and tell me my calendar while an Echo Dot is hidden behind it to turn off the bedroom lights.
Using both the virtual assistants – Alexa and Google Assistant is a very bad idea. Conduct deep research and choose one of them, preferably before you start buying smart gadgets. Both of them have their own weaknesses and strengths. Depending on what you need and what the virtual assistant provides, choose the one that you would be using the most. Choosing the wrong one can lead to frustration and a lot of inconveniences.
