Huawei is catching up with Apple, Google, and Samsung on the smart speaker front. AI Cube is a 4G modem, speaker, and a WiFi router hybrid all in one. The company revealed the new device during its Mate 20 series event in Shanghai, China recently.
Inside lurks Huawei’s “Histen” algorithm — a music equalizer and booster software that can also be found on its smartphones.
It comes with two passive bass radiators which are responsible for providing natural sounding effect and an excellent bass performance. Dynaudio, a reputed Danish brand, was roped in to design and develop the acoustic system. It also has voiceprint recognition and half a dozen microphones.
Xiaoyi is Huawei’s voice assistant. HiLink connectivity support is offered to smart lights, locks, security cameras and more. However, details regarding its sale have not yet been released.
