Partnership Allows Housing Startup To Integrate Amazon’s Smart Home Tech Into Their Prefab Homes
Plant Prefab is a housing start up all set to integrate Amazon Alexa and other smart techs in its houses. While Amazon offers home structures via third-party sellers, it is yet to bring something that it can call its own. It is not clear whether the buyers will be able to purchase an Alexa-powered prefab home directly from Amazon.
Voice is a great tech to have in a house. Alexa is compatible with over 20,000 devices across 3,500 brands. Plant Prefab is a leading company in home design using innovative tech. In this age where major cities are facing a housing crisis, it is too much effort and time to build a house from scratch, keeping in mind problems like labor shortages, construction costs, and inevitable delays. Factory producing homes reduces the time by 50% and cost by 25%.
Amazon also partnered with Lennar to include Alexa-compatible smart devices like thermostats and lights in all their houses.
It’s too early to tell what Plant Prefab’s Alexa-enabled abodes will look like or how much they’ll cost compared to a standard prefab home sans all the smart home bells and whistles.
Lowered costs seem to be their selling point, in addition to it being a smart home.
