Partnership Between Amazon And Travelers Means Discounts On Smart Devices And Insurance Policies
The insurer is launching a storefront on Amazon, Amazon.com/Travelers. There, customers in eligible states can get a discount on smart home kits that include security cameras, water sensors, motion detectors, an Echo Dot and a hub to coordinate all of them.
The customers also receive a discount on an Echo Dot and on their home policy. Travelers is introducing two skills for Alexa. One is to answer questions while the other answers questions of home maintenance and offers safety tips.
The news comes on the heels of Amazon making several overtures in the home insurance industry. Amazon registered as an insurance agent in India and is soon believed to open a comparison site in the UK. While there is a rumor that it is involved with insurance, but there is no concrete evidence yet.
Michael Klein, EVP and president of personal insurance for Travelers, stated that their Amazon digital storefront played a great role in bringing the smart home gadgets, installation services, insurance, and discounts under one roof in order to inform the customers better and take the lead in home safety.
