Play Security Video Streams From Arlo, Ring, August, Logitech, And More. Your Amazon Fire And Alexa Device Plays Nice With Smart Cameras.
Amazon Alexa devices with displays have had a new update thanks to which you can now play video stream recaps from your smart home cameras. Alexa users in the US using smart cameras from Arlo, Cloud Cam, Ring, August, and Logitech can view the history feeds on Echo Spot, Fire TV, Echo Show, and Fire Tablets.
With one of the supported cameras, you can say, “Alexa, show the event that just happened at the front door” to see the most recently recorded video from that camera. You can also say, “Alexa, show the latest event from the [add your configured camera name].”
Regardless of you configuring your Alexa-connected cameras by camera name, a number, location, or any other factor, the last clip will play according to your request. If the brand of your camera is not among the above-mentioned, you will have to wait.
Since Amazon’s Alexa does not store the video, while retrieving a clip, its availability depends on the camera’s storage features. Amazon is looking to make the video feed replay feature better to use and more useful. Though the US customers get to experience this first, Amazon will be releasing this for other countries soon as well.
